ok well i didn't fell like explaining the conceptual base for the work i just posted individually so i figured i would just update the journal as well. Ok first one:

Lighting the Figure.
Ok that is the digital test shots i did (prof is still grading the other ones) the digitals are my first try at strobe lights, the film one messed up hard core so i re-did the real assignment with tungsten lights. Anyways i was essentially thinking about the different roles women play in society. We have a wide range of ideals and expectation for female behavior that can sometimes reach extreme opposites. So i was trying to demonstrate female versatility through the different bras we wear (if you do choose to wear one at all) Sports bras, strong, athletic, capable, practical, sometimes more natural vs the push-up bra sexy, soft, sensual. i was fortunate enough to have my friend Lauren model for me.

I'm from a smallish town in northern Ontario but go to university in the southern part of the province. So when i came here to find very little real nature i was disappointed. anyways the university owns an Arboretum but most people think of it as this natural space like a forest. Personally if its natural you don't cut the lawn make fences and other disruptions. So anyways it disgusts me how much we do to nature to make it fit our "needs". So i wanted to show my disgust with the constructed landscapes. For this project i just walked around the Arboretum and photographed things that weren't natural or ways humans have subverted the landscape, then I messed around with the printing making it slightly darker I also purposely over exposed my negatives to get a specific effect mostly more contrasting lighting.

So anyways I've moved on to other assignments that I will post eventually one is going to be a 6 foot photo that i will take a digital shot of the installation so you guys can see it. It is going to be the most work and a large pain in my ass and will be done by the end of November, I've started shooting for it but i have a feeling i will be shooting a lot more.

Also i saw Matt Good in concert yesterday!!! I'm still kinda excited about it. It was sweet. and he is a very funny man
